Regular servicing is the only way to be confident your fire alarm system is fully operational and ready to protect you when it matters most. It’s also a legal requirement to keep your system in good working order and compliant with current safety standards.

Our trained engineers will visit at a time that suits you and carry out a full service in line with BS 5839‑1. We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help resolve issues over the phone, and if you ever need urgent on‑site support, we’ll have an engineer with you quickly.

🔦 Emergency Lighting Regulations & Testing

Emergency lighting is essential for keeping occupants safe during a power failure. Without it, sudden darkness can create serious risks — from physical injury to panic. Emergency lighting must operate automatically and provide enough illumination for everyone to evacuate the building safely.

Emergency lighting should clearly illuminate all escape routes, including:

• Stairs, ramps and changes in floor level
• Corridors leading to final exits
• External areas so occupants can reach a safe distance from the building

A record of every test must be entered into your emergency lighting logbook to remain compliant.

🗓️ Annual Emergency Lighting Test

A full‑duration test — typically three hours — must be carried out once a year. All emergency lights must remain operational for the entire test period. Any failures must be recorded and corrected as soon as possible to maintain compliance and ensure the system is ready when needed.
